In the Land of the Thunder Dragon (Bhutan) there is a unique fungus that grows on caterpillars above 4000 metres. It's been used for hundreds of years in Traditional Asian Medicine and is more expensive than gold. Bhutan Pharmaceuticals Private Limited has been set up to explore the fungal diversity of Bhutan as a source of new metabolites. This blog will let the World know what we are up to.

What can I say? It has been a quiet two years on the Cordyceps front. At least with respect to Bhutan. Bhutan is a country that deserves better as an emerging nation. But when its economy is linked almost 100% with that of India it is up against things. When the economy of 1.2 billion people starts failing what chance for Bhutan (650,000). But there are now some interesting Cordyceps possibilities over the next year or so.
